Still in Pain After Trying Everything?
You've stretched it, rested it, maybe even seen a few specialists — but the pain keeps coming back. Sound familiar? You're not alone, and it's not your fault. Here's what most people experience before finding real, lasting relief.
The Revolving Door of Generic Care
You see a different provider every visit, spend 10 minutes with the actual therapist, and leave with a printout of exercises you already know. Assembly-line PT doesn't get to the root of why you're hurting — it just manages symptoms until your visits run out.
On-Again, Off-Again Pain That Steals Your Life
Back pain that flares up on your run. Ankle pain that sidelines you from the gym. Pelvic floor issues no one wants to talk about. When pain is unpredictable, you start avoiding the activities that make you feel like yourself — and that takes a real toll.
No Plan, No Progress, No End in Sight
Without a personalized treatment plan built around your goals — not just your diagnosis — recovery stalls. You deserve a provider who actually listens, spends real time with you, and builds a clear path from where you are now to where you want to be.

1:1 sessions with a Doctor of Physical Therapy — 50 minutes of undivided, hands-on care every visit
Semi-private Pilates classes capped at just 4 students for personalized instruction and safe progressions
Specialty services under one roof: pelvic floor therapy, dry needling, rehab Pilates, and orthopedic PT
I would love to sing the praises of Balanced Physical Therapy & Pilates. Bridget and her team of physical therapists and pilates instructors are truly amazing. As an athlete, I've experienced my share of injuries that have left a lasting impact—torn muscles, broken bones, and ACL surgery—but my most chronic source of discomfort comes from AVN in my hips. I started with Rehab Pilates classes and quickly realized I had found my new home. After just one class, I knew I wanted to explore the 1-on-1 physical therapy sessions as well.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your first visit to our Charlotte physical therapy & Pilates studio.
Do I need a physician referral to start physical therapy?
No. North Carolina is a direct access state, which means you can schedule an evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy without a referral from your physician. You can call, email, or book online and start care right away.
Do you accept insurance?
Balanced Physical Therapy & Pilates is a self-pay and out-of-network practice. We do not bill insurance directly. This model allows us to give you the full, undivided attention of your Doctor of Physical Therapy for every minute of your session — without the time constraints and limitations that come with insurance-driven care. We are happy to provide a superbill upon request for potential out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider.
How long are physical therapy sessions?
Each physical therapy session is 50 minutes, 1:1 with your Doctor of Physical Therapy. You will never be handed off to an aide or assistant.
How many people are in a Pilates class?
Our semi-private Reformer Pilates classes are intentionally capped at just 4 students. This small size allows your instructor to give individualized attention, offer modifications, and ensure you are moving safely and effectively throughout the entire class.
What is Rehab Pilates — and how is it different from a regular Pilates class?
Rehab Pilates is a DPT-led class specifically designed for clients who are recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, or transitioning out of one-on-one physical therapy. It is more therapeutic and modification-focused than standard Pilates classes and serves as a bridge between structured PT and independent movement.
Do you offer dry needling, and who performs it?
Yes. Dry needling is performed by Dr. Julie Brace, who holds her CMTPT/DN certification. It is effective for muscle pain, stiffness, and delayed recovery from injury, and is often combined with therapeutic exercise for lasting results. If you are curious about whether dry needling is right for you, reach out and we are happy to discuss.
